Why it matters
Gospel and soul are musical traditions rooted in the African diaspora. Sankofa Unit is presented as a long‑running choir/tremplin that develops soul and gospel singers in France, providing performance opportunities and group vocal training that contribute to sustaining Black diasporic vocal practices on the Paris stage.
